My First Etsy Sale

Last week I was excited to complete my first Etsy sale. My customer needed rush order for the Alana Ladybug banner. I was happy to oblige but ran into a snag. I live in Tuscaloosa and our city is still recovering from the loss of over three thousands homes and businesses. One of those businesses is Hobby Lobby which is where I get my houndstooth banner paper. I didn't quite have enough in my reserve to complete a banner. So I ran all over town to gather black and white options while messaging my customer. The result was a adorable black and white polka dot lady bug banner that we were both very happy with. It opened up a whole slew of options for lady bug banners!

Lillie's Party Decorations

My older sister also has a sweet little girl who turned one this spring. Lilllie is as sweet and cute as her first birthday party. We held the party for her large extended family in my mother's front garden. I was super excited to help plan and decorate for a little girl's party. With two boys I really miss pink! I made a banner, paper poms, confetti, cupcake toppers, and spacers for a clothes line containing some of her sweet outfits and photos from her year. It was adorabl
e! And so was Lillie!

Miller's Blessing

Last weekend my son had his baby dedication. I want a simple decoration for his dessert reception. I love how sweet and simple this banner is. It gave me the idea of using any saying or word for any occasion on a banner. It could be used as a photo prop with a name or just married. So many possibilities. I also made some simple cupcake toppers to match with just his little initial on it.

Aubrey Kate's Banner

Aubrey Kate is my adorable niece. She turned one in April and my sister in law wanted to use a spring theme and she asked me to create a banner she could use again and again. She sent me some shots of the crafty decor she had put together and I worked from that. I think the banner is great example of how you can give me an idea to work with and I can create something tailored to you. The result was pretty cute. But it isn't nearly as cute as my niece!

Race Car Banner

I am the mother of two little boys who love their race cars!! I made this banner just as an example of so boy type things that I can do.

Sela's Banner

Alana and Sela's birthdays are very close. I created a banner for Sela based off her favorite color: Orange! Sela's parents are also huge Alabama fans so I loved making something orange for their family! This banner is a great example of customization. I can do something like this in any color combination imaginable. It is adorable!

Alana's Banner

One of my dear friends asked me if I could create a banner for her daughter's first birthday party that she was going to use a lady bug theme. This friend and her husband are in the youth ministry and we met them while they were living here in Tuscaloosa. They have since moved but remain big University of Alabama fans and supporters. I am an Auburn grad and fan. But knowing what it would mean to her I decided that a little houndstooth would make this banner just perfect for this sweet little girl. I love the way the banner came out.
One thing I love about this banner is that looks awesome in any kind of black and white pattern. Whatever suits your fancy! It can be changed to fit you and your theme. I think polka dots or stripes or all of the above would also be cute.

Beginning

Last year for my birthday I got a Cricut machine and I started making little things here and there for my kids' parties and my classroom. I found this creative outlet to be just the stress relief I needed and began to branch out and really enjoy making party decorations for friends. And at the encouragement of friends and family I started a little Etsy shop to sell banners and other paper crafts that make me happy. I decided to start this blog to show more of my work and the story behind it. I hope that my customers can see the many possibilities beyond what they see listed in my shop.
